April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started piano and guitar lessons in 7th grade which sparked the interest of her. When she was 12 years old, April came up with her first original song Different. She spent lots of time at 14 writing songs and practicing music. She started writing songs along with her dad in NY and LA soon after. April began including other topics in the book, Take My Hand, for her friends who were dealing in the face of peer pressure, disability or suicide. Lockhart is a partner at the well-known cosmetics brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with her own growing following. She was born without her left hand and that is part of who she is--but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not focus solely on it. What is the message? We all have multiple aspects and that we are all unique and that we are greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability should define me. It's not my intention to influence disability because I have plenty to offer." However, it doesn't affect my day-to-day living. I still do all the things I normally would and I've adapted to the limitations of my disability. Since it's a my identity, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Her journey to self-acceptance will be one that lasts for a long time, and she can be a role model in this regard. Still, she admits that she went through phases in her life in her body, and felt uncomfortable in certain situations wearing outfits that showcased her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and posts photos of herself dressed in outfits she wears on social platforms. Self-love, according to her, is a kind of journey. "I don't think you'll be in that place," she said. That's true of everyone regardless of how much they are afraid. I believe having friends close to you who truly understand you and can see your feelings is crucial because they'll be the people that remind you of what are you concerned about?
