Katherine Heigl recently spoke out about being raised within "a white bubble." She also explains how this experience has affected her parenting of adopted children that are multiracial. In an interview with she spoke about the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared her body didn't matter to her. However, when talking to her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society had treated them, she was conscious of the differences they were. "I wanted to know Meg whether she felt treated differently when she went out with our parents and the times she was out on her own. Meg said, 'Oh, sure, I've seen the whole thing I've seen it all! Heigl told Parents, "That made me realise that I had been so ignorant." Her anger grew, and she decided to channel her anger into assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl and her long-time husband -- the musician Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. Their daughter was adopted by them Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide eight, who is Black, in 2012.
